Congrats to our very own Quakertown Community High School Cheerleading Squad on their triumphant success at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Cheer Camp at Chestnut Lake from August 17-20.
The squad was named Camp Routine Champion, Ninth Grade & Under Jump Off Champion, Cleanest Cabin and Top Banana Day 3. The team also received two Stand Out Gold Ribbon Routines, four Superior Awards, five Pin It Forward Recipients and 13 All-Americans. In addition, three seniors were invited to try out for UCA Staff.
Award Descriptions:
Top Banana – Awarded to the teams at camp that demonstrate qualities of leadership, school spirit, and go above and beyond to encourage others at camp.
Pin It Forward – One athlete per program is recognized by a UCA Staff member for being a team leader and school ambassador. Once pinned, you have the job to pin another athlete at camp from another school who you believe goes above and beyond their role as an athlete.
All-American – An individual award given to those who display superior technical skills, leadership, and strong personal values. The All-American award encompasses the best qualities of an all around cheerleader. Over the years, the UCA All-American has evolved and changed with the times, but it will always remain the most popular and prestigious individual cheerleading recognition in America.
