Dear QCSD Families:
With the new school year upon us, I have committed to ensuring open communication and transparency so that our students are at the center of all we do. One of my personal goals is to better connect with our families and involve them in conversations about their children’s educational journey. With that goal in mind, I am creating a Superintendent Parent Advisory Council, and I ask that you consider applying to serve on this important council.
The SPAC will allow parents and guardians to communicate and collaborate directly with the Superintendent and other district administrators on their children’s education issues. It will be an open forum to share concerns, voice opinions, ask questions, and provide valuable perspectives. Please note that the council will not decide QCSD policy, but council member input will be an important factor in policy decisions.
The council will consist of three parents/guardians per school -- 24 delegates in total – who will meet monthly at the District Office. If you are interested in serving on the council, please download and complete the SPAC registration form and email it to spac@qcsd.org by the end of the day, Friday, September 6, 2024. Council selections will be decided upon by September 13, 2024, and the first meeting will be held at the end of September. If you have any questions about the council, please contact the principal at your child’s school.
The council will provide two-way communication between parents/guardians and the district, which is crucial for achieving quality and excellence in all our schools. As we reimagine education, we want you to work alongside us to build a better tomorrow for your children’s future.
Yours in education,
Dr. Matthew Friedman
Superintendent of Schools
